Giving Fabric a Second Life

Giving Fabric a Second Life

Did you know that 85% of textiles end up in landfills each year? That includes fabric scraps, old clothes, and unused craft materials—things that could have been repurposed instead of wasted.

That’s why we love collecting and sharing donated fabric, trims, and craft supplies at Makeropolis. Every piece has the potential to become something new—whether it’s patchwork for a quilt, scraps for fabric collages, or even stuffing for soft sculptures. There’s always a way to reuse!

Next time you’re about to toss a fabric scrap or an unfinished project, think twice—could someone else use it? Could you turn it into something unexpected? Sustainability starts with small choices, and in the craft world, those choices make for some pretty amazing creations!

Week Two at the Farmers Market – Finding Our Place

Our second week at the farmers market felt right. We needed a place to be consistently in people’s lives, and this market is exactly that. Every week, we get to have real conversations about upcycled crafting, the need to create, and how consumerism pushes us to always buy new when there’s already so much to work with. Seeing people get excited about repurposing materials—whether it’s fabric, paper, or half-finished projects—reminds us why we do this.

What are you making?
