There are a couple of ways to support MakerOpolis and your generous support helps us keep creativity alive and sustainable!

Every donation allows us to expand our efforts to provide eco-friendly, secondhand materials and unique crafting supplies to makers everywhere. Together, we’re reducing waste, supporting sustainable crafting, and inspiring new projects. Thank you for being part of this journey—every contribution makes a difference!

Finished with a project? Have crafter’s regret? MakerOpolis accepts gently used and clean art/craft supplies.

Local pick-ups can be arranged in Central Valley/Bay Area, CA. Mail-in donations are accepted—please email us to coordinate:

LIST OF ACCEPTED ITEMS

CLEAN, REUSABLE ART AND CRAFT SUPPLIES

Art/Craft Supplies

  • Pencils, colored pencils, markers, drawing pens, erasers, sharpeners

  • Watercolor paints, paintbrushes, clean canvases, pastels, charcoal

  • Ink and ink pads, printmaking tools, calligraphy tools

  • Hand tools, scissors, cutting mats

  • Beads and jewelry-making supplies

  • Cigar boxes

Fibers

  • Thread, knitting and crochet tools, sewing needles

  • Aida cloth, fabric (larger than 10" x 10"; no scraps, please!)

  • Elastic, zippers, leather, pins, lace, hemp, embroidery floss

  • Rotary cutters, scissors, stencils, yarn, patterns, transfers

  • Knitting and sewing baskets and cases

  • Rulers, vintage and modern notions and tools

Stationery

  • Watercolor paper, craft paper, scrapbooking paper, wallpaper samples

  • Sketchbooks, notebooks, stationery, envelopes, sticky notes

  • Glue, tape, memo books, rulers, cards, stamps, stickers, ink pads

Books

  • Art- and craft-related books, coloring books, sewing books

  • Vintage books and maps, collage materials, craft magazines

  • Handmade books and zines

Other Accepted Items

  • Enamel pins, patches, maps

  • Clean bubble mailers and packing supplies (no styrofoam peanuts)

  • Shipping boxes, paper, and reusable shopping bags

We also accept limited home and vintage items on a case-by-case basis.

NOT ACCEPTED:

  • Fake flowers and plants

  • Holiday decorations, holiday-specific books, or anything Christmas-related

  • Home linens, towels, sheets, drapes, or tablecloths

  • Anything toxic, combustible, or hazardous (including spray paints and aerosols)

  • Clothing and clothing hangers of any kind

  • Electronics and appliances

  • Tile and fabric samples

  • House paint

  • Medical supplies

  • Scraps of fabric smaller than 10" x 10"

  • Anything broken or needing repair, especially sewing machines

  • Binders or large office supplies

  • Anything that requires more than one person to carry
