✨ Blog Post: Makers vs. Curators — Or Maybe Both?

At Makeropolis, we love all kinds of creatives — but lately, we’ve been thinking about the two types of magic-makers we see the most:

🎨 The Visionaries: These are the artists who start with a blank canvas — literal or not. They sketch, paint, illustrate, or digitally dream up something brand new. Whether they’re drawing late into the night or filling a notebook with color studies, their creativity begins in the imagination.

🗂 The Curators: These artists work with what already exists. They find beauty in old paper, rescued fabric, forgotten buttons, and vintage scraps. Their superpower? Seeing possibility in the overlooked. Junk journalers, collage artists, vintage ephemera lovers — they don’t just make things, they remake stories.

And here’s the best part:
You don’t have to choose one lane. Some of our favorite creatives do both. They might design a sticker sheet one day and decoupage an old recipe the next. It’s all art. It’s all valid. It’s all yours.

So whether you’re a blank-page kind of artist, a treasure-hunting curator, or a bit of both — you belong here.
