Sewing Lessons — Beginner & Refresher Classes

Ready to learn how to sew or brush up on your skills? These hands-on sewing lessons are designed for teens and adults ages 14 and up, whether you're a complete beginner or simply need a refresher.

What to Expect

Lessons are approximately 1 hour, including 45 minutes of hands-on learning and 15 minutes for cleanup. Lessons take place in my home sewing studio in a relaxed, supportive environment.

I believe the best way to learn is by making something you actually want to create! We’ll choose a project based on your interests and skill level and use it to build your sewing skills along the way.

Projects You Can Make

Depending on your interests and experience, projects may include:

• Stuffies and simple dolls
• Reusable household items
• Tote bags
• Simple garments
• Other beginner-friendly projects

Skills You’ll Learn

Lessons focus on building confidence, patience, creativity, and practical sewing skills. You may learn how to:

• Use basic straight and zig-zag stitches
• Practice proper pinning and fabric handling
• Measure and cut fabric
• Read and follow simple patterns
• Build confidence using your sewing machine
• Develop your own creative ideas and problem-solving skills

What to Bring

Please bring your own sewing machine to each lesson.

When checking out, please include the following in the Order Notes:

• Student's name
• Student's age
• Sewing skill level (beginner, refresher, intermediate, etc.)
• Any specific project or skill you'd like to work on
