At Makeropolis, we call these Crafty Crumbs—projects that were lovingly started by one maker and just need another pair of hands (maybe yours!) to bring them to life.
From One Maker to Another
Crafty Crumbs come to us through donations: a set of quilt blocks carefully cut and pressed, bibs just waiting for bias tape edging, a half-finished garment still pinned and ready to sew. Instead of letting these pieces be forgotten, we pass them along so someone else can finish the story.
Each bundle or piece is one-of-a-kind, carrying a bit of the last maker’s creativity and care. It’s a little glimpse into another artist’s process—an invitation to continue what they started.
Why We Love Them
There’s something special about picking up where someone else left off. You get to honor their work, learn from their stitches, and add your own creative touch. Some customers finish these projects just as they were intended; others transform them into something entirely new.
Either way, every Crafty Crumb is rescued, reimagined, and kept out of the landfill—proof that handmade things are worth saving.
