We did it! Makeropolis made its debut at our first farmers market, and wow—what a day. Of course, in true "doing-too-many-things-at-once" fashion, I almost forgot to live stream the whole thing (oops). Between setting up, chatting with customers, and keeping my stress levels in check, the day flew by.
One thing I really noticed was how much the vibe of shows and markets has changed. People are so much more interested in sustainability, recycling, and repurposing than ever before. Our Fill-a-Bag for $5 table was a huge hit—so many great conversations about giving new life to fabric, craft supplies, and materials that would have otherwise been tossed. And seeing kids get excited about making art from these rescued goodies? That was everything.
And of course, a special shoutout to our parents for bringing us lunch (because let’s be honest, I would’ve completely forgotten to eat).
All in all, it was an incredible first market experience—lots of learning, lots of creativity, and lots of excitement for what’s to come. Can’t wait for the next one!
