I’ve started a little Simple Stitch Notebook — a place to fill over time with samples of different stitches and techniques I want to practice. This week, I tried sashiko for the very first time! I used this kit from the Socorro Society.
Sashiko is a traditional Japanese hand-stitching method that uses simple running stitches to create beautiful geometric patterns. It’s rhythmic, relaxing, and a lovely reminder that slow stitching can be both meditative and creative.
I can’t wait to keep adding to this notebook — each page a new stitch, a new lesson, and a little piece of my creative journey. 💙
