If we had a nickel for every time someone asked, “What would you make with this?” at our booth or in our inbox… well, we’d probably use it to buy more buttons.
And we love it! Seriously. Part of the joy of what we do is helping people imagine new lives for old materials. Here are some of our most common questions — and how we like to answer them:
🧵 “What do I do with a bag of fabric scraps?”
Mini quilts, textile collages, doll clothes, or just good old-fashioned patching. Also? They’re excellent for kids’ crafts and texture play.
📚 “Can I actually use old books for art?”
YES. Pages become backgrounds, quotes become journaling prompts, and covers turn into brand-new sketchbooks or junk journals.
🎨 “What would YOU make with this?”
Our favorite answer is always, “What do you see?” But we’ll also throw out a dozen ideas — we’ve got that crafty brain that never turns off.
So ask away. We’re always happy to brainstorm. That’s what Makeropolis is for — a place to find materials and inspiration.
What are you making today?
