Stamps, Sustainability & A Bag from Beyond

Stamps, Sustainability & A Bag from Beyond

Another farmers market down, and while it didn’t rain, the threat of rain kept a lot of people away. (Come on, weather—commit!) But those who showed up were all about the stamps. Seriously, they were the unexpected MVPs of the day.

Meanwhile, in true “house manager” fashion (aka Mom Life), I completely forgot the bag I made and two craft boxes I planned to bring. Too busy making reusable paper towels, DIY laundry soap, and timing laundry for non-peak hours to remember my own stuff. Priorities, right?

And about that bag—I'm convinced the fabric came straight from my late grandmother’s couch. The pattern was identical. A cosmic coincidence? A message from the beyond? Just really common 1970s upholstery? Who knows. But now I can’t unsee it.

Even with lower attendance, we still had great conversations about upcycled crafting, the urge to make, and resisting the constant push of consumerism. Can’t wait to see what next week brings!

Week Four at the Farmer’s Market -

Our little customers came back and showed us their projects they'd created from the fill a bag table. Creativity is so fun!  We had so many great conversations about creativity -  one customer was making handmade birthday cards, another need just a smidge of fabric for bookmarks and another was just starting their journey with crocheting.

What are you making today?
