My sister and I have been doing crafts together for as long as I can remember. Over time she has helped me with Makeropolis but something changed after we joined the Turlock Farmers Market. Our booth exploded in the best way possible, leading to more donations, more creating, sewing lessons, crafty conversations and our first big Craft Swap.
This is how it worked, I held it at my home and since my driveway is a big U shape so we had plenty of room to put stuff out. This also made it easier to have an entrance and exit. We had departments fabric, yarn, paper & ephemera, storage, handmade and MISC. When someone arrived I would either give a blue or red ticket, blue 10-15 items, red- take what you want. We started at 8am and ended about 12 ish. I did donate some of the leftovers and what was kept will go out for the next swap. We would like to do this every six months or so.
Stevie was our coordinator and Id let her do it a million times over. She drew out the driveway and pretty much made a planogram, we did a run through the day before, she made sure we had enough tables and stayed on top of it.
I do have to say my husband Steve helped so much too. With every idea, this man has been EVERYTHING for me. Your support, unconditional love and patience with me thank you isn’t enough, you are the butter to my bread, I love you.
